The YOUNG FAMILY
There were four members of the extended family that served WWll:
- Dave Young, RCAF, did 32 missions and was sent home.
- Alistair Young, RCAF, shot down on 5th mission over Germany.
- Ralph Boyle, Canadian Army, served in Italy (Battle of Ortona) and Holland.
- Dave Fraser, Canadian Army, served with the Artillery.
- My wife Jean (Young) Smith was a sister to the young boys, Alister and Dave Young.
- Ralph Boyle married the oldest sister (Grace) in the Young family.
- Dave Fraser married Isobel Young, another sister in the Young family. Dave and Isobel were married before WWll ended. Dave was sent home after the Italy campaign was over. He was being prepared for the war in the Pacific against Japan.
