ARTHUR GIBBONS My father, Arthur Gibbons served in the second world war in France as a cook. He had many stories of the horrors of war and I know some haunted him to his grave. He was born in Nottingham in 1919 and moved to Paris Ontario in the 1920's. He was stationed in Sooke BC before being shipped overseas when the war called for his battalion. The picture of his mess crew is in France. He is front row far right. The picture of him with his medals was taken in the early 2000's before he passed in 2003. |
