The Masseys
In WWl, my three uncles Sam, Mat and Doug Massey all served in the Canadian Merchant Marine out of Vancouver shipping airplanes to Australia. They were struck by a torpedo but were able to make it to port.
On my mother Lila’s family side, the Dennis’s, her three brothers Geordie, Leonard and Alfred (Spud) Dennis all served in the Canadian Armed Forces in WWl and their children served in WWll.
Geordie’s two sons, Robert and Phillip, were bomber pilots in the Royal Air Force and flew many bombing missions over Germany.
Leonard had two children who served in World War 2; Neil with the Royal Canadian Air Force and Florence as a WAC.
Alfred (Spud) Dennis, by his second marriage, had two children, Art and Mildred Raines, who were also veterans of WWll.
